Project #1: Felt Heart Wreath

With Valentine's fast approaching, I thought this was a cute way to spread the love.
I found the project here.

This wreath is super easy to make. The prep is a bit time consuming, but well worth it!

Here are the items you'll need:

- 1/2 yard of red felt

- heart-shaped wreath (good luck finding one! I spent 2 hours looking for this.)

- long straight pins

-8" of ribbon

First you'll cut ALL of the felt into 3" circles. I traced the bottom of a soup can onto cardstock. I then pinned the card stock to the felt and began cutting. This is the time consuming part. I spent a few nights with Hub-B watching tv and cutting.

Take a circle and fold it in half, like so:

Now fold your half-circle in half:

Then pin the point to the wreath:

Fold and pin until the entire wreath is covered. You will not need to do the back of the wreath.

Pin the 8" of ribbon to the back and there you have it! A festive Valentine's wreath.

Pre-project chaos!

After deciding to attempt this craft-a-polooza, I retreated to my sanctuary to begin. I had forgotten that during the crazy holiday season my room had become a dump-all. After a big, long sigh and a quick roll of the eyes, I got to work de-cluttering.

Baby-O even decided to help. She thought that going through my rubber stamps and licking each one was a great way to help Mom.

So three garbage bags later....my sanctuary is now workable! I am now ready to begin. Now the hard part will be deciding which craft to do first.
Tune in next week to see what I've come up with!

So it begins...

I've always been a pro at collecting things that I have great intentions for. I'm ashamed to admit that I have enough 12x12 paper to start my own paper store. I'm equally ashamed to admit that I have a computer hard drive full of craft projects that I (again) have intentions on completing.
So enough of my good intentions! I'm going to do something about it and I'm inviting you along for the ride. So in the spirit of "Julie and Julia" Im crafting my way through 2010. The challenge:50 crafts to complete in 2010.
Ready or not, here I go...
